What the current public site establishes
Interactive Brokers’ current homepage includes an IBKR Prediction Markets product and links into its ForecastTrader/prediction-markets interface. Its disclosure identifies ForecastEx LLC, an affiliate of IB LLC, as the source of the displayed market sentiment and says US-election Forecast Contracts are available only to eligible US residents.
That identifies a broker access path and an underlying source, not a promise that every IBKR account can trade every event contract. It is different from evaluating a direct venue solely by its brand.

Do not apply a stock commission headline to an event
The same homepage advertises IBKR Lite commission-free US exchange-listed stock/ETF trades. That statement does not establish a zero Forecast Contract commission. The reviewed material does not establish current forecast-contract commissions, so no numerical forecast commission is asserted.
An event comparison needs the broker charge, exchange/clearing charge if any, contract denomination and exact product. Interest on uninvested brokerage cash is also separate from an event payout or a reader’s trading profit.

Broker funding and contract rules are separate
Funding and cash availability belong to the relevant brokerage account and product permissions. The reviewed homepage does not establish a standalone ForecastTrader funding/withdrawal schedule or every eligible location. We have not transplanted a different broker product’s bank-transfer terms into this guide.
For a contract, the question, observation source, close time and exceptional outcomes come from its own terms. A broker interface showing a familiar event title does not prove the same instrument as a Kalshi or Polymarket US contract.

When this is a useful research path
IBKR is relevant to readers who want to understand event access within a brokerage they already evaluate, rather than assuming all prediction activity occurs through a standalone exchange account. Compare the exact account/contract costs before choosing a route.
This is a source-based identity guide, not a completed IBKR-versus-Kalshi fee comparison or a funded account test. Current contract-specific commissions and funding are the precise evidence limits.

Broker access is not an exchange-wide fee promise
The public catalogue identifies the broker’s prediction-market offering. It does not establish every event-contract commission, permitted account type or funding hold. This guide is therefore a broker/product identity reference; a full fee comparison waits for contract-specific evidence. Stock-commission headlines and consumer referral rewards are not substitutes.
| Question | Evidence status |
|---|---|
| Broker / venue | Separate entities and contract rules |
| Consumer event commission | Not resolved by the catalogue |
| Account route | Broker-specific conditions; stock-commission headlines do not establish contract costs |
