Choose the calculation you need
Translate prices, understand settlement and compare spot costs with visible assumptions.
Use probability for a price translation, payout for cash flows, and Cost Lens for complete spot costs. None predicts an outcome or executes an order.
Three tools, three different questions
The examples below work without entering anything. A calculation explains its assumptions; it does not choose a product for you.
| Task | Worked example | Excluded |
|---|---|---|
| Translate a quote | 60¢ / $1 = 60% before costs | Fees, margin and forecast accuracy |
| Settlement cash flows | 100 × $0.50 + $1.75 fee = $51.75 outlay; win $48.25 net, lose $51.75 | Later exit fees and non-standard payoffs |
| Spot costs | $1,000 × 0.8% + $4 withdrawal = $12 | Unentered spread, slippage and funding |
Read the outputs correctly
Gross payout is cash returned on a win. Net profit subtracts outlay. Maximum loss in a standard fully paid binary example is the outlay. Break-even is outlay divided by winning payout.
| Output | Example |
|---|---|
| Stake | $50 paid for contracts |
| Total outlay | $51.75 including $1.75 fee |
| Gross winning payout | $100 |
| Net winning result | $48.25 |
| Losing result | −$51.75 |
| Cost-adjusted break-even | 51.75%, not the 50¢ entry quote |
Share assumptions deliberately
Copy links contain only bounded calculator inputs and allowlisted product labels. Inputs stay local until you choose to share the URL. Avoid sharing amounts you consider private. Marketing tags are ignored for arithmetic.
| Control | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Blank costs | Unknown; total and sharing disabled in Cost Lens |
| Preset edited | Becomes a reader assumption, preserving product identity |
| Old snapshot | Retains dated inputs; never presented as today’s quote |

Calculate stake, total outlay and winning/losing settlement results. Enter the fee actually quoted; compare the raw general formula separately.
Compare spot fees with Cost Lens
Compare execution, spread, funding and withdrawals for the same spot trade. Source presets and your assumptions stay clearly labelled.
What is a prediction market?
A market for contracts tied to defined outcomes. Its prices can express expectations, while its rules determine what eventually gets paid.
