What this demonstrates
Koinly's walkthrough of adding a Ledger hardware wallet to Koinly using public addresses (Ethereum), an extended public key (Bitcoin) or an exported Ledger Live operation history.
- For Ethereum, the presenter copies the receive address from Ledger Live, with the device connected, and pastes it into Koinly, which recognises the network (about 1:44 to 2:10).
- Bitcoin needs the extended public key (xpub), found under the Bitcoin account's Edit account screen in Ledger Live (about 2:24 to 2:52).
- The file route uses Ledger Live's Export operation history, choosing every account you use, then dragging the saved file into Koinly (about 3:12 to 3:54).
- After importing, the presenter checks the transactions tab and staking tags before moving on to reports (about 3:54 to 4:07).
Apply it to your task
- Collect the public address or xpub for every Ledger account you used.
- Or export the full operation history from Ledger Live, including every account.
- Review staking and transfer tags after the import.
