Polymarket international: mechanics and US access limits

A separate crypto-based event-market product, explained for context rather than offered as a US trading route.

Independent research. We receive no commission from the official links on this page. Our disclosures →

A different account and settlement system

The international product uses blockchain-based positions and its own funding, market and dispute documentation. It does not share an assumed US cash balance or US onboarding workflow. International resolution can involve proposals and challenges before final outcome determination.

US new-position restrictions

The geographic documentation reviewed lists the US among regulatory-restricted jurisdictions for new positions on the frontend/API. We provide no international trading button or workaround. An integration in a third-party portfolio tool is not evidence that a US reader can trade there.

International costs and limits

The international fee schedule lists category-dependent taker coefficients, no maker execution fee under that document and five-decimal fee precision. For 100 sports shares at $0.50 and coefficient 0.05, the fee is 1.25 USDC; crypto at 0.07 gives 1.75 USDC. Funding intermediaries can add cost even where the platform describes no deposit/withdrawal fee.

These numbers explain that product; they are not an alternative US venue quote. For US funding, fees and settlement, use the separately labelled US guide.

International context has a clear boundary

This profile explains a separate product. International fee categories and resolution documents do not establish access to the US dollar account. We provide no international trading CTA or access workaround for US readers.
